You see, this here Imitation Jaeger-LeCoultre JLC Reverso Tribute Chronograph, that’s a mouthful, ain’t it? Well, these fancy watches, they’re somethin’ else. I heard some folks talkin’ ’bout them down at the market. They say it’s for them grown-up types, you know, the ones with a bit of money in their pockets. Not for the likes of us, I reckon. This Jaeger-LeCoultre thing is a chronograph, they say. Like a stopwatch that is rectangular, which is harder to make.
But you know, they got these copies, these imitations, like the Imitation JLC Reverso. Heard they call it “Reverso Tribute.” Sounds fancy, right? Some folks, they can’t tell the real from the fake. And why would you need the real one anyway? The fake one tells time just as good, I bet.
This one fella, he was sayin’ he wanted one of these JLC Reverso fake watches, the simple kind, with the metal back. Not that two-faced one, the “Duoface.” Too much goin’ on there, I think. Two faces on a watch, who needs that? Keep it simple, that’s what I say.
- These watches are supposed to be tough, right?
- Like them G-Shock things the young folks wear.
- This Reverso, it’s like a fancy watch tryin’ to be tough.
- But it ain’t got much water resistance. 3 bar, whatever that means.
Now, this Imitation Jaeger-LeCoultre, you can wear it with anything. Jeans, them sneakers everyone’s wearin’ these days. Even a polo shirt, if you’re feelin’ fancy. They say it is a sports watch. Well, I’ll be. But looks like a grandpa watch to me. This Reverso was made in 1931. A long, long time ago.
Someone was askin’ about a fella who had a fake Reverso. Wonder what happened to that watch. Some folks are always tryin’ to pass off a fake as a real one. They even got the same numbers on ’em, these fakes. Sneaky, ain’t it?
Now, this real Jaeger-LeCoultre Reverso Tribute Chronograph, that’s a real piece of work. They say it’s hard to make, somethin’ about the shape. Rectangular, they call it. Like a long, thin box. I always say, why does it need to be fancy? It just needs to tell the time. This Tribute Chronograph (ref. Q389848J), I see that number everywhere when I look for these watches.
You can find these watches online, all kinds of ’em. The real ones, the fake ones. Some places got good deals, they say. But you gotta be careful, lots of folks tryin’ to trick ya. There are also used ones. I saw one that was bought for $3000 and now is $5000. What a rip off.
This one watch, the Reverso Tribute, it’s supposed to be like the old ones, from way back when. 1931, they say. That’s older than dirt! They got these lines on ’em, like a railroad track. And the numbers, they’re stuck on there, not painted. Fancy stuff, I guess.
And then there’s another one, this Reverso Tribute Enamel somethin’. It’s got a snake on it. That’s one watch I can appreciate. It’s like art, but on a watch. These watches got some complicated movement inside. Calibre 822, I think. And it is hand wound. You need to turn it to make it work.
- Some of these new Reversos, they cost a pretty penny.
- Like $8,900. Can you believe that?
- For a watch!
- But they say it’s worth it.
- ‘Cause it’s a special watch.
- An important one, they say.
Well, I don’t know about all that. A watch is a watch, I say. It tells time. That’s all that matters. But these Imitation Jaeger-LeCoultre watches, they sure are somethin’ to talk about. Even if they ain’t the real deal. They’re everywhere these days. Especially in these specialty stores. You know the ones I mean. The ones that sell these kinds of watches.
But hey, if you want one of these fake JLC Reverso watches, you do you. Just don’t go spendin’ all your money on it. There are other things in life, you know. Like food on the table and a roof over your head. And maybe a little somethin’ extra for a rainy day. That’s what’s important. Not some fancy watch. Even if it is a Imitation Jaeger-LeCoultre JLC Reverso Tribute Chronograph Specialty Stores. What a name!
These rich folks and their watches. They are always going on about them. I don’t see the big deal. As long as it tells time, who cares? But I guess if you got the money, why not? I just think it is silly. But to each their own. I just hope people don’t get tricked into buying a fake one when they want a real one. That would be a shame. But it happens. People are always trying to make a quick buck. Well, that is all I got to say about that.
