Alright, folks, gather ’round, gather ’round! Today, I’m gonna share with you my little project. Remember that Patek Philippe Gondolo 4962/200R-001? That’s right, the one with the rose gold case and that classy brown leather strap. Well, I got it into my head that I wanted to try and remake it. Yeah, you heard that right, remake it!
So, first things first, I needed to find some good pictures. I hopped onto the Patek Philippe online store and started snapping screenshots. I mean, if you’re gonna do it, do it right, yeah? I wanted every angle, every detail. After that I got all the good pictures and screenshots from the original one.

Finding the Case:
This was a tough one. I wanted something close to that 18k rose gold look. Scoured the internet, checked all the usual spots. Finally found a stainless steel case that had a similar shape. Not perfect, but hey, close enough for a project like this, right? I compared it with the “750” mark to make sure that I get the right one. Luckily, I think I got the correct one.

The Dial:
Now, the dial… that’s where the magic happens. I managed to find a pretty decent replica dial online. It wasn’t an exact match, but the numerals and the overall layout were pretty darn close. I spent hours staring at those pictures, making sure I got it as close as possible.

Hands and Movement:
For the hands, I ordered a set online that looked similar to the original. As for the movement, I went with a quartz one. I know, I know, it’s not a mechanical movement like the real deal, but it keeps time just fine, and it’s a heck of a lot cheaper!

The Strap:
Finding a brown leather strap was easy peasy. Ordered one online, made sure it was the right width, and boom, done. Nothing fancy, just a good ol’ leather strap.
Putting It All Together
Once I had all the parts, it was time to get down to business. I carefully removed the back of the case, placed the dial, and secured it in place. Then came the hands. This was a bit tricky, gotta be real gentle with those tiny things. Finally, I popped in the quartz movement, attached the strap, and closed up the case.
And there you have it, folks! My very own homemade Patek Philippe Gondolo 4962/200R-001. Is it perfect? Nah. Is it the real deal? Of course not! But it’s my little creation, and I’m pretty darn proud of it. It sits on my desk, ticking away, and every time I look at it, I’m reminded of the fun I had putting it together. It’s not about the price tag, it’s about the journey, right? And trust me, this was one heck of a journey!
