So, I decided to try my hand at remaking the PRADA Small Prada Galleria Saffiano Special Edition Bag, the classic style. I’ve always been a fan of those designer bags, but, you know, they cost a fortune. So I thought, why not give it a shot myself? It seemed like a fun project, and I was itching to get my hands dirty.

First things first, I spent hours staring at pictures of the original bag online. I checked out the official PRADA site, some fashion blogs, and even a few unboxing videos. I wanted to get every little detail right, from the shape of the handles to the way the leather was stitched. It was like being a detective, piecing together clues to recreate this masterpiece.

  • I gathered my materials.
  • I got some good quality leather that looked and felt like the Saffiano stuff PRADA uses.
  • I found some sturdy zippers and metal hardware that matched the original’s.
  • I even managed to find a similar lining fabric.

Getting the right materials was half the battle, let me tell you. I had to check tons of stores and compare prices to get good deals. It is not easy, but I did it.

Then came the hard part – actually making the bag. I started by sketching out the pattern, which took a while to get right. I used some old cardboard to make templates for each piece. Cutting the leather was nerve-wracking, I didn’t want to mess up the expensive material. But I took it slow, measuring twice and cutting once, as they say.

Sewing the pieces together was a whole other challenge. I used my mom’s old sewing machine, which I barely knew how to operate. There were a few mishaps, some wonky seams, and a lot of thread pulling, but I eventually got the hang of it. I also tried to do some hand-stitching for some details, which made my fingers sore, but it was worth it.

I put the lining in, making sure it fit snugly. Then, I put on the handles and the hardware. Seeing the bag take shape was so satisfying. It actually looked like something you’d see in a store, not just some homemade thing. I even made a little detachable strap, just like the original.

After many late nights and a lot of hard work, I finally finished my RemakePRADA bag. It wasn’t perfect, of course. There were a few imperfections here and there, but I was proud of it. It looked pretty darn close to the real deal, and it felt good to know I had made it with my own two hands. People around me liked my bag very much!

I learned a lot from this project. I realized how much work goes into making those fancy bags. The craftsmanship, the attention to detail, the quality of the materials – it’s all pretty amazing. I have a new appreciation for those designers and artisans now.

Would I do it again? Maybe. It was a lot of work, but it was also a lot of fun. Plus, now I have a pretty cool bag that didn’t cost me an arm and a leg. It’s not a real PRADA, but it’s my PRADA, and that’s special enough for me. I am considering making some other bags like FENDI!
