You know, I’ve always been a fan of those fancy designer bags, especially the YSL ones. I saw this one bag, the JUNE BOX BAG, and I thought, “I gotta have that!” But, well, it was a bit out of my price range. So, I decided to get crafty and try to remake one myself. It’s a classic style, you know, simple but elegant.
I started by looking at a bunch of pictures of the real bag online. I wanted to get a good idea of the shape, the size, and all those little details. It’s like a box, literally, that’s why they call it the JUNE BOX BAG. And it’s got this shiny YSL logo on the front. I knew I had to get that right.
Then came the fun part – choosing the materials. I went to this local craft store, you know, the one with all the fabrics and leather and whatnot. I found this really nice black leather that I thought would be perfect. It wasn’t exactly the same as the real YSL bag, but it had that same kind of luxurious feel. Also had to grab some sturdy fabric for the lining and some gold-colored hardware to match the logo.
Now, I’m no expert when it comes to sewing, but I’ve done a few projects before. I started by cutting out the leather pieces, following the measurements I’d taken from the pictures. I made sure to cut them a little bigger, just in case. It’s always easier to trim later than to add more. Then I sewed them together, piece by piece. Let me tell you, sewing leather is no joke! It’s tough, but I managed.
- First, cut the leather.
- Then, sew the leather.
- Next, put in the lining.
- Finally, add the hardware.
After I had the main body of the bag assembled, I added the lining. I wanted something that would protect my stuff and also look nice. I chose a soft, black fabric that wouldn’t scratch anything. Sewing the lining was a bit tricky, especially around the corners, but I took my time and made sure it was all neat and tidy.
The last step was adding the hardware. I found a gold-colored clasp that looked similar to the one on the real bag. I attached it to the front flap, making sure it was secure. And then came the most important part – the YSL logo. I couldn’t find an exact replica, so I decided to make my own. I cut out the letters from some thin gold-colored metal sheets and carefully glued them onto the front of the bag. It wasn’t perfect, but it had that same kind of vibe, you know?
Almost Done!
When I was finally done, I took a step back and admired my work. It wasn’t an exact replica of the YSL JUNE BOX BAG, but it was pretty darn close. And you know what? I was proud of it. I had taken something I wanted and made it my own. It might not have been the real deal, but it was my Remake Yves Saint Laurent, and that was even better.
Now, I can carry my things around in style, just like I wanted. My wallet, my keys, my phone – they all fit perfectly in my new box bag. And every time I use it, I remember the time and effort I put into making it. It’s not just a bag, it’s a story, a little piece of me. I showed it off to my friend, and she liked it too! She even suggested that I should consider making more and selling them, but honestly, I’m not sure about that yet.
It is said that YSL handbags are a good investment, and the logo will remain, I don’t know about that. But I know this one is my favorite bag now!
