Okay, here’s my blog post about remaking the PRADA Small Prada Galleria Saffiano Leather Bag.
So, I saw this PRADA Small Prada Galleria Saffiano Leather Bag, and I was like, “I gotta have it!” But then, I saw the price tag, and I was like, “Nah, I’m gonna make it!”
First, I got some Saffiano leather. This stuff is the real deal – it’s what PRADA uses, so you know it’s good. It’s got this cool cross-hatch pattern that makes it super durable and scratch-resistant. I found a supplier online that had a good selection of colors, and I picked out a classic black. It is a harmonious design.
Next, I needed a pattern. I couldn’t find an exact replica of the Galleria bag, so I studied a bunch of pictures online and sketched out my own version. It took some trial and error, but I finally got a pattern that I was happy with.
Then came the fun part – cutting and sewing! I carefully cut out all the pieces from the Saffiano leather, making sure to follow my pattern exactly. I used a heavy-duty sewing machine to stitch everything together. This part was definitely the most time-consuming, but it was also the most rewarding. It is amazing!
Once the bag was assembled, I added the hardware. I found some gold-plated buckles and a zipper online that were a pretty close match to the original PRADA bag. I also made a little leather tag with my initials on it, just to give it a personal touch.
- Get the Saffiano leather
- Draw the pattern I like
- Cut and sew the leather
- Add and install hardware
The whole project took me about a week to complete, working on it a few hours each day. And you know what? I’m pretty darn proud of how it turned out! It’s not an exact replica, but it’s got the same vibe and it’s definitely a statement piece. Plus, I saved a ton of money by making it myself!
So, if you’re thinking about getting a designer bag but don’t want to break the bank, I say go for it and try making your own! It’s a fun and challenging project, and you’ll end up with a unique piece that you can be proud of.
And if any PRADA people are reading this – please don’t sue me! It’s just a tribute to your amazing craftsmanship!
It’s a long story. But I made it!
